Meet Bailey

Hill House Bed & Breakfast has all the comforts of home… including the family dog. Many times the first words from a guest entering the Inn are “Where’s Bailey?” Bailey is our 8 year-old Golden Retriever, who has been greeting our guests since she was just a year old. She loves her job and has never missed a day!

The journals in the guest rooms and reviews on TripAdvisor are filled with tributes toward her:
“Bailey was so thoughtful in making me feel at home by promptly sitting on my foot while I rubbed her ears.”

“We miss our pets when we are away from home, so seeing Bailey was a special welcome – pets are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole!”

If you would like to say hi, it may take a minute for her nose to appear from the floor since she loves checking out shoes – to see where you’ve been or what kind of pets you may have at home. But then her big brown eyes emerge and she leans gently on your leg for a pat. She would make a great therapy dog!

As many of our guests are aware, Bailey has many allergies and is on a special diet. She recently started some new medication and is slowing down a bit, but she’s at the Inn every day after breakfast waiting for the OK to say hello!

Favorite activities: Napping, short walks… and being petted
Favorite pampering: A couple’s massage – when two guests are petting her at the same time!
Favorite treat: Potato slices.
Unfortunately, Bailey has allergies so her diet is very restricted.
Please, no snacks or treats for Bailey.

Not a dog lover? Not to worry. When Bailey is over to visit, she’s leashed and under our control, so guests can visit with her if they choose. She’s not allowed to roam free at the Inn or be in any guest rooms (however, many guests wish she could sleep in their room). Bailey can’t wait to meet you!
